In a camp in Germany, Eve of 1945: As some prisoners were resigned to it being their final New Year, Livia Fränkel's sister Hédi was sure they'd soon be free. Young women forced to leave Sighet and taken to Auschwitz - where their parents were murdered upon arrival - Livia and Hédi thankfully survived the Holocaust; liberated, as Hédi predicted, that April 15th in Bergen-Belsen.
