💡Practice tip: You can practice this exercise with the metronome set to (1) the dotted quarter note or (2) to the eighth note. Playing this exercise as heard in this video, with the metronome on the eighth notes, will help you keep your lip slurs as in time as possible. 💡Practice tip: This exercise is great for practicing intonation (playing in tune) in the lower register. If you look closely, you’ll notice that I kick out my third valve slide a bit for low D and a lot for low Db/C#! This helps the tuning on these lower notes.
