I love the look of a wax finish. It has a bit of shine, but without the glare of a gloss varnish. There's a softness to the look of it that I just find so inviting. A couple of things to keep in mind if you're a painter that wants to try this- *this process wouldn't work well on a stretched canvas because you need to press down in the buffing stage. I have heard of artists using wax as a top coat on paper though. *use a dust-free cloth for applying and buffing. I find that Scott shop towels work
