Mama Duck Waits Patiently For Neighbors To Rescue Her Babies

Some days it’s about getting your ducks in a row; other days it’s enough to know where your ducks are. The wood ducks are breeding! In about a month, our swamps and marshes will be rippling with the paddles of new ducklings! When ducklings are just a day old, they leap out of their cavity nest to join the female calling below. They tumble down about 60 feet, sailing like cotton puffs and usually land unharmed. You can help wood ducks by placing a nest box near a wooded swamp or pond. Happy #Worl
