Angora rabbit coloring always amazes me. Della is a black rabbit, but her fiber has faded to more of a gray color. When she is shorn, however, the base of her coat is white, but it will grow back to being gray again. Rabbit shearing is decidedly easier than sheep shearing, mostly due to the over 100 pound difference in size. While the purpose of shearing both animals is the same, the process is quite different with the rabbit mostly remaining upright. The best fiber from the back is removed first, while the belly and legs are saved for last; the exact opposite of a sheep. This Giant Angora rabbit wanted to enjoy the whole view during his shearing. Usually the rabbits are content to sit still, but this is an example of one who wanted to move around more and was free to do so.
