In Israel you can find some interesting Roman structures. They ruled over it during the Second Temple period and after it till 324 when the Romans accepted Christianity and were called Byzantines after their new capital. They ruled till 638. The Jews revolted against the Roman rule. In 70 CE during the Great Jewish revolt, in 132-136 CE during the Bar Kochba revolt and the Gallus revolt in 351-354 CE. Then emperor Julianus in 361 allowed tbe Jews to start rebuilding the Temple but he died in 363
