The secret is simple. Plant your plants in repeating patterns-It draws the eye along the border. Plant colors that compliment each other-choose brights or pastels and stick with a cohesive look. Plant plants with different foliage textures along the border for interest when blooms are spent-smooth leaves, silver fluffy leaves, grass-like leaves.
