Happy World Cassowary Day to our feathered friends – the world’s second-biggest bird! Cassowaries can grow up to two metres tall and live for up to 30 years, although individuals have reached almost twice that age in captivity! This World Cassowary Day, drivers are urged to be ‘cass-o-wary’ on the roads, as, over the past 12 months, there have been 21 cassowaries killed in road strikes – making road collisions the leading cause of reported cassowary deaths.
