Wanna make an alpaca very happy? Sprinkle some barn lime and watch them roll! Just like dust bathing, lime (non-toxic crushed up limestone) helps alpacas keep their coats clean and free from external parasites. This time of year, some of our alpacas grow massive coats - like half a foot thick - so those scratches feel really good! Nearly all of these guys came from traumatic backgrounds where they were neglected and never allowed to be carefree because their basic needs were not met. It’s so fun
