Nov 28, 2020 · PU inherently does not last very long, but you can extend its life by protecting it from UV light and excessive heat and cold. Abrasions are generally what does it in, though. I can't imagine that the oils in leather conditioners are terribly good for plastic.

May 11, 2023 · PU leather comes with a timer. All PU leather does. When that timer goes ding, in 5,6, or 10 years, the fabric self destructs into a horrible greasy flaky mess. You can drag out the timer but there is no way to really make that material last. It is guaranteed to die on you well before any other textile.

I would recommend a big custom mousepad/deskmat from YourPlaymat, you can get pretty much any size you want and lots of different options for custom edges and stuff. Don't know of any custom pu leather mats, but their mousepads are great as deskmats. Really nice quality and machine washable.

Mar 21, 2023 · let it sit out overnight. The vinyl/PU/faux leather will relax a surprising amount after sitting. Your other option is steam, which works pretty reliably to get those creases out. Steam it well, and hang and let sit for a while. I don’t recommend ironing, it can be done but it doesn’t take much to burn it.

Nov 8, 2023 · VR Cover's PU leather one for Quest2 was the most comfortable interface out of all. The thing literay felt like having a soft pillow on your face. I'm actually getting Meta's Silicone interface and I'm planning to buy VR Cover's PU Leather one when they'll release it. Will be sure to post a comparison.

Mar 6, 2020 · I bought two crossbody bags, they are the PU leather. When I looked up PU leather online prior to buying the pics I saw resembled real leather texture. Mine feel like they have a plastic coating. I also don’t feel like I can wear them regularly because with one, once the stitch loosened, the sides jut out & are left open. It’s a mess.

I know that's a no go) I've read somewhere that it has the potential to release cyanide gas, but I've also read that the amount is very minimal (similar to wood combustion).

Of late, some headphone manufacturers using PU (polyurethane) leather pads - which is actually a sheet of fabric (usually cotton or polyester) coated with polyurethane - have also started calling their product "protein leather", which is just plain misleading.
