I did the same. I was lost trying to learn the Thai alphabet until I came by that video series. It made the cost of a one-month subscription worth it by itself. As it tuns out, part of cuneiform's legacy is the alphabet. The Ugaritic script, which dates to the late Bronze Age, is perhaps the world's first example of an alphabetic script, one which predates the Phoenician alphabet which gave rise to the major European alphabets, and the Aramaic script which eventually gave rise to Devanagari and its daughter scripts.
