2021年7月15日 · So recently I built my own pc and I was gifted an SSD to use in the system (Samsung PM983, P/N:MZQLB3T8HALS-00007). Upon farther inspection I realized that it wasn't a standard SATA SSD and it was a U.2 SSD using sff-8639 used in servers. It didn't come with any cables and my motherboard (B550 tomahawk) only has a SATA port and no U.2.

For example, if I don't touch the pc, the ssd usage will be 5 to 10% but if I open let's say just the browser, the SSD usage will jump to 100% for a good minute before going back to 5%.
