On 19th July 1918, U-boat 110 was making an approach on a convoy of Allied merchant ships off the Hartlepool coast when her periscope was spotted by H. M. Motor-Launch No. 236 .

2022年5月30日 · These photographs show tUB 110, a German submarine that was sunk and risen in 1918. We can see the control room in the submarine, including the manhole to the periscope well, hand wheels for pressure gear, valve wheels for flooding and blowing, and air pressure gauges. SM UB-110 was built by Blohm & Voss of Hamburg.

Here were built 131 U-Boats commissioned by the Kriegsmarine, including 15 of the type VIIB: one of these was U 47, shown on this photo of G. Prien´s book My Way to Scapa Flow. 1800x1500 px, 300 dpi, 1127 Kb. Ram and pennant of U 7 in Kiel, 1935.

Type IXC U-boats carried a crew of 48 and were armed with 22 torpedoes and a 105mm deck gun. Their top speed on the surface was 18 knots (33 kilometres per hour) but submerged was only 7 knots (13 kilometres per hour). The drawing shows the interior layout of the submarine.
