The T-72M2 Moderna is a Slovakian upgrade of the Soviet T-72M1 main battle tank, developed in the aftermath of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1992.

The T-72 is a Soviet -designed main battle tank that entered production in 1973. It replaced the T-54/55 series as the workhorse of Soviet tank forces (while the T-64 and T-80 served as the Soviet high-technology tanks). [citation needed] .

Since the ending of the WARSAW Pact, a number of former member countries still operating the T-72M/T-72M1 have developed upgraded versions of the tank as a cheaper option than importing new tanks, for both modernization of their own T-72 and for the export market. Slovakia, which was part of the former Czechoslovakia, is one such country.

In 1994, after the disintegration of Czechoslovakia, Martinská zbrojovka brought its second modernization of the Soviet medium tank T-72, under the designation T-72 M2E "Moderna", to the Brno IDET trade fair.

Furthermore, this T-72M2 has awful turret traverse (18°/sec when fully maxed out I think), awful overall mobility (still gets -4 km/h) and the 30mm doesn't get APDS belts (65mm pen max), it's just a T-72AV TURMS-T with 30mm at 10.0. It's not that scary.
