My turbo resonator failed on July 26, 2008 (2006 Sprinter with 7300 miles) en route to ONT from NJ on a Sunday afternoon. Flemington NJ Dodge dealership was useless as was Chrysler 800#. Thankfully, Kingston ONT dealership was terrific, identified the problem quickly, fit me into their schedule on Mon am and made a same-day repair under warranty.

My 2006 Sprinter 2500 would start up fine and driver fine until the temp gauge reaches about 185 and then the turbo would stop working and the van would lose power. If i shut the van off and start it back up everything would work fine for about 2-3 mins before it loses the power again.

I bought a 2005 new from the dealer and have had very few problems with mine in over 125,000 miles. The turbo resonator went bad (they all do) so I put in an aftermarket aluminum one. I had a glow plug go out that I replaced myself. I've gone through 2 turbo intake hoses. Sprinterguru is right!! The engine does not leak oil!!!
