"Function" here should not be confused with a programming language function (method) which talks about implementation of a feature software. That is most likely not what a PM would be talking about when they refer to "Features and Functions".

So I bought the new Pixel 8 Pro at launch here in Australia and I'm kind of disappointed that so many of the new features they announced in the Google event are limited to US only. Not many people are talking about this and I find it a little misleading of Google to announce all these cool software features with a fine print stating US only.

Software features that can't be demonstrated by automated tests simply don't exist. It is one of the most useful and helpful things I have ever heard. Knowing that you can't measure the user experience, you still have to create software that works. Whether the software works or doesn't work is independent of how it looks.

Features are then used to plan a product road map, which is a separate discussion. The Epics are taken and discussed further, resulting in User Stories for each Epic. The Features and Epics are used to drive discussions in Backlog Refinement and Sprint Planning sessions.
