2024年4月2日 · I worked on my house, I played video games, I rode my bike and ran, I read books, and I focused on my job. I still rode once a week on a generous friend’s wonderful mare Lucy, who is the sort of horse I loved being around, and whose presence made me leave the barn happier than when I arrived, no matter what we wound up doing together.

2015年6月11日 · It had movies and flashy lights and the history of the company is fascinating. But the surprise bonus was a view of the stables, complete with some gorgeous draft horses. Draft horses used to deliver beer throughout the city. I can’t imagine how great it would be to get beer delivered by a horse to my house.

2020年7月8日 · My grandfather, a realtor and developer, was building several homes and promised me that when the houses were sold, he would buy me a horse. I was 16 when the closing on the last house was finalized. Now, five years into riding, I was overwhelmed with excitement as my dream of owning a horse was segueing to reality.

My Facebook feed features a series of photos of me working while barn cats, dogs, and even a miniature horse try to get a bit of my attention. Fluctuating between my secure country home and my father’s chaotic house in the city, I felt torn apart.
