I'm just looking for something reliable and trusted where my card details will not be stolen. I'm just getting started and I don't know which sites are worth recommending and trusting.

2024年6月2日 · Running your game at a low resolution frees up a LOT of CPU power when using the default pygame SDL graphics. Use pygame.SCALED and pygame.FULLSCREEN as flags when defining the window so it’s not tiny and runs in full screen. Make your sprites true size, if it’s a 16x16 sprite, it should be a 16x16 png file.

2022年9月16日 · I'd like to note that, for a game like Minesweeper, using pygame's built-in Sprite/SpriteGroup system at all might not be the best choice. It is designed for dynamic movement of differing sprites. In Minesweeper, you'd have a large amount of static sprites that all share in appearance.

2021年12月2日 · self.image = pygame.Surface((width, height), pygame.SRCALPHA) This way, you can .fill the surface with transparent color, and still draw visible shapes on top of it. May work weirdly if not all surfaces have that flag, so unless your game is graphically heavy (checkers aren't) you can just apply this flag to every single surface.

In my project, I used a long sprite for the "railgun" weapon that my enemy uses (2560px,1.44KB), and whenever multiple railguns are on screen, it causes my game, which usually runs at 60fps, to drop to 40 or less.

2022年6月11日 · The pygame docs say "The Group does not keep sprites in any order, so the draw order is arbitrary." but then it also says "The Sprites in the Group are ordered only on python 3.6 and higher. Below python 3.6 drawing and iterating over the Sprites is in no particular order." I'd assume the latter is correct.
