May 6, 2021 · PS2 does not read the card on Browser screen as well, so I cannot go and check the data. I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience. Dec 6, 2019 · The memory card slots and joypad ports and joined on ps2s so that if a memory card, say, hangs up while reading, the controller will no longer be able to input anything, and vice versa. So in your case, id do a bit more testing. Try another controller in port 1. See if the problem with the memory card port persists.

I am just wondering how fast this is specifically. I heard it's faster than the USB ports. But I am wondering if it's faster or slower than the optical drive.

Jul 26, 2022 · Despite what the other commenter said, some games will save to a memory card in slot 2, even on a PS2, slim or not. If the game you’re trying to save on is one of those (usually you can tell because it’ll ask which slot to access), you can try that. If it works, then yep, it’s your controller that’s the problem.

Feb 13, 2024 · Hello! I got a PS2 Slim a few months ago, turns out the memory card slot 1 is dead, wouldn't read anything, but all the controller ports worked, and memory slot 2 worked fine. So I just kept using it and didn't bring it up with the seller. It bugs me though, so I want to fix it.

Aug 1, 2022 · I'm currently using an unbranded 16MB memory card, which came with my PS2 Slim I bought at a thrift store a little over 10 years ago and I had no problem saving games this far. I only have 14 PS2 games and have 12,658 KB of storage left, but I may need something of bigger capacity when I'll add more titles to my collection.

Dec 1, 2020 · In my case on my Ps2 slim I boot it up without a game in it (so it stays on the menu) and I can access the plugged in memory card in « Browser », where you’ll see it. Then you press X and you should see every save files on it
