2017年6月22日 · It sounds like a whistle (or chirp?) when accelerating, or just as you back off the accelerator. It tends to always happen when cold, but is less noticeable after driving for 5-10 mins (but is still there if you listen harder). Feedback from Mitsubishi is that this is the VGT (variable geometry turbo) at work and that the engine is running fine.

2021年11月8日 · I have a nw 3.2 diesel. It has developed a high pitched whistle/ air noise . Only when accelerating and feathering the throttle. It can get really loud and Annoying. As that’s where the throttle sits when your cruising. Can anyone suggest what it might be. I need help

2011年11月3日 · you shouldnt be able to really hear the turbo. i'd say that you either have a boost leak under the bonnet, (check with engine running and bonnet open, give it a rev and you should be able to hear where its leaking from) or you have a leaking exhaust. if you have a boost leak, your paj will be down on power and probably smoking more than it did. hth

2013年5月19日 · Hi all, I drive a Gen2 with 3.2 conversion. Returning from Botswana today via Platjan Borderpost, I noticed a blowing whistle sound when the vehicle is pulling (i was pulling a trailor) I stopped a Polokwane and inspected all the turbo pipes and all seemed fine.

2012年3月27日 · I had a turbo problem with mine that turned out to be an exhaust blockage. Things i checked intercooler hoses and intercooler for air leak, replaced exhaust manufold gaskets, checked fan belts. Does it do it when you just rev it at standstill ?

2011年6月21日 · The turbo whistle is high pitched and normal, but at about 1450rpm for about 100 rpm I get this additional sound, like a very high-pitched vibration. Only when the car is hot, and not while stationary.

2011年6月30日 · I havn't tampered with the turbo in any way I just swapped it over still attatched to the original manifold. I'm also noticing that sometimes at about 2800 - 3000rpm it sounds as if it is letting off air hissing loudly until I take my foot off the accelerater??

2012年8月7日 · Some time ago I noticed if my window is open the turbo whistles slightly. Should I be worried or am I being paranoid? Really awesome vehicles! Same with my 07 GLX BK model. quite loud, especially when revving around 1500rpm ... bothered me at first but its now on 105k km and still going strong.
