This is why in aircraft the use of clad aluminum sheets is common. The clad is a ~0.1 mm layer of pure aluminum on the sheet that protects the alloyed sheet.

The whole system should be electrically isolated from ground (i.e. the ground) The nickel plating is flaking off after 3 months service, primarily on o-ring sealing surfaces.

2005年8月18日 · The base material in this particular case is 30NiCrMo16-6. This is a landing gear part with a nickel repair (without paperwork) and I need to verify nickel thickness. If there exists such a method could it be used on other base metals? Please forgive me for my ignorance. I usually deal with aluminum structure.

2002年7月23日 · 4. pressure testing was apparently done after electroless nickel plating. upon notice of the leaks, no preheat was applied and a high carbon nickel electrode was used to patch the void in the welds. the lack of preheat resulted in hot cracking and the phosphorus in the electroless nickel created voids at the weld material/base material interface.

2004年7月23日 · The main issue with the zinc (or any other type of plating/coating) I think would be the following contamination issues; A) contamination in the form of flaking and also, B) contamination in the form of outgassing of the coating/plating that is being used.(especially when exposed to UV light) I hope this is a little more specific.
