To run full-speed USB on an atmega32u4 you need the external crystal. While it's true you can grab an atmega32u4-rc and run low-speed USB that will prevent you from using NKRO on your keyboard. To make a long story short the default keyboard mode that a USB keyboard uses (BIOS mode) is limited to sending the state of 6 keys.

2014年3月6日 · Besides some fairly stuck keys (which are better now, after some baths), the larger problem was that three keys ('T', 'J' and '7') didn't always work. I found that pushing the middle of the PCB up would help it, and sometimes the keyboard would work for 1 week without me doing anything, but eventually it started to be more and more problematic.

Fast forward to 4 days ago and some keys are conflicting, like i press 2 keys together and a completely different one will show up (q2w2w2w2w2w2w <- this was me holding Q and 2).
