The Hip Hop Museum is a museum dedicated to the celebration and preservation of Hip hop music, dance, art and culture and "permanent place to celebrate the music that has made the Bronx famous around the world".

The Hip Hop Museum was founded by Rocky Bucano and a group of iconic entrepreneurs and artists including Kurtis Blow, Grandwizzard Theodore, Grandmaster Melle Mel, Joe Conzo Jr., and many others. They joined forces to create the world’s first Hip Hop museum in the Bronx.

In celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary, The Hip Hop Museum will tour the US to tell the story of the pioneers who created and cultivated a sound that sent waves around the world. The touring exhibit will feature early Hip Hop artifacts, highlighting important firsts along the genre’s road from block parties to billboard charts.

Located in the south Bronx, the Universal Hip Hop Museum has been years in the making. Intended to preserve and celebrate the evolution of the genre, the museum has been collecting memorabilia and hip hop artifacts from the early 1980's through the 2000's.
