Founded in 1972, The Housatonic Model Railway Club consists of an HO scale layout based on locations around Danbury and Norwalk, Connecticut. Previously, the layout was based on the Housatonic Railroad, and what it may have looked like in the fifties, as if the New Haven had not retained control in 1890.

The layout includes three fictional railroads, the Class 1 Hudson, Delaware and Ohio; the Trenton Northern, an interurban and traction line; and the Rahway River, a short line. Each railroad interchanges with the others but has its own operating crew and procedures.

The Citrus Model Railroad Club has three operating layouts in their club house near Inverness FL, in HO, N, and G scale. These layouts are open to the public for viewing each Saturday morning from 8 am until noon (except August), and daily during the week of the Citrus County Fair, which is usually held near the end of March or early April.

Jan 7, 2017 · RETRO TYCO is a 5′ x 8′ HO-Scale layout devoted to preserving anything and everything produced by TYCO. It features 2 railroad lines, with the inner line figure-8 achieved by TYCO’s Over-and-Under Set, a siding controlled by TYCO’s block switch, and nearly every one of TYCO’s entertaining railroad accessories.

Of all the layouts, the HO scale layout is the largest and we have the most members. The layout takes up a 2700 square foot area and is designed as a walk-around type with two levels so the Engineers can follow their trains as they make their way along the route. The mainline track length is 4.91 scale miles long, or 297.98 actual feet.
