3 天之前 · Griffith Observatory is a free-admission facility located on the south side of Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park. The building and grounds are accessible for all visitors. The building is busiest on weekends, during summer and holiday periods, and at sunset.

2 天之前 · There are many ways to get to Griffith Observatory! The easiest and fastest way is via public transportation. You can also hike, bike, take a shared ride vehicle, or walk up from parking elsewhere in the park.

3 天之前 · Every show is presented by a live, engaging storyteller, and one of our current shows is offered every 60 to 90 minutes each day the Observatory is open. Show tickets may be purchased only at the Observatory and only for that day’s shows.

Seeing a show in the Samuel Oschin Planetarium is a highlight of any visit to Griffith Observatory. Shows are offered at multiple times throughout each day. Because the planetarium is a unique experience and environment, it has its own guidelines regarding tickets, entry, and conduct.

Richard Gunther’s interest in science and astronomy was sparked by an inspirational visit he made as a 12-year-old to Mount Wilson Observatory. There, through the 60-inch telescope, he examined the Orion nebula and witnessed its immense, swirling red mass of brilliant colors contrasted with the blackness of space.
