2020年1月31日 · I think, for as much as one could argue that people should really just enjoy the music, that mindset does a bit of a disservice to the ambition showcased on Plastic Beach. Regardless of one's reception towards the new music coming out (I liked the new song fyi), Gorillaz and its characters are effectively a brand now, and little else.

The cartoon characters are murdoc, Russel, noodle, and 2D. As for the real people, Jamie Hewlett is the artist and Damon Albarn does vocals and such. Aside from that it’s a constant rotation of various drummer, guitarists, bassists etc. at least that’s what I’ve gathered.

2021年4月29日 · The sound of Humanz is a big, chaotic, apocalyptic party, and so is the artwork. Jamie pushes a lot of experimentation with photo collages and bold compositions. The characters have a more digital look, with bright contrasting colors and no outlines, and more lifelike proportions, sometimes even drawn on top of real models.

Vocaloid is a voice synthesizer program though, sure it has characters/mascots, they're just there to differentiate a certain version of the program that have their "voice", plus they barely have any personality to begin with, the fans do that. So I would hardly call Vocaloid a virtual band.

There are a couple of instances in Phase 1 that debatably show 2D with white eyes. However, in these instances, they're likely drawn that way due to being in shadow and are made white for effect - Jamie often does this for characters in shadow, not just limited to 2D.
