Hi all, driving home from work (we work nights) we have now seen on two different occations two seperate very large foxes. They look like foxes, beautiful healthy red coats and all other charactaristics of a english rural/urban fox but as I said much larger, infact the size of a very large stocky/muscular dog. What could it be?

It's a Red Fox that is suffering from mange, which is very common in wild canids and often results in total hair loss, not just on the tail. Mange makes its victims susceptible to other illnesses as well, so infected animals often will be seen out foraging in broad daylight, something that a healthy fox will avoid.

Where ever is their hiding or resting spots I suggest try spraying or sprinkling extremely hot peppers or sauce. All these animals are always sniffing. These extremely hot peppers will cause uncomfortable breathing. So most animals will stay away, plus peppers are not carcinogenic. Please let me know if it works.
