You sneak and kill enemies asleep or sitting down all the time in Elden ring. in Skyrim you get ambushed at times and walking around is risky because of animals and assassins. Skyrim offers a world that feels like a place you want to "live in", unlike Elden Ring, which features a very hostile world. Skyrim is also far superior in the modding department.

Elden Ring is more exploration & tough battles with a wicked combat system, pretty light on the typical dialogue-heavy storytelling. Skyrim is more traditional grinding and questing with a much larger main plot, mediocre combat system. It's really a matter of taste.

Elden ring almost objectively got Skyrim beat from combat, magic, stealth, character personality, character faces don't look like the ugliest people alive, you name it. All thay except maybe the nostalgia and lore. Though skyrim fucks up the TES lore in the first place so maybe skyrim has no winning point over elden ring at all
