2017年9月14日 · John, aka Mr. Coconut Palm on this board has told me that the northern India tall variety is the cold hardiest, followed closely by the Mexican tall variety. Not sure where he got his information or what he based this on. Perhaps he will add to the discussion. I believe the temps I heard were 25F and 26F respectively.

2016年7月30日 · Palm Tree Dude on the east coast Cape Canaveral is the max for long term (but not forever) survival and reliable fruiting with big specimens. People say Clearwater on the west coast. Not as far north in the middle of the state. And I would say yes 10a zones have plenty of "at risk" but big, fruiting coconuts, at least in my neck of the woods.

Some may actually survive, and honestly, patrons aren't going to even notice the difference between a coconut palm and a windmill palm. Bananas are the same way - I think most people don't even know there are more than one kind of palm tree or banana tree. That is sad.

I bought this coconut tree online in February 2021 and left it outside in a 15 gal pot until December 2021. Then I brought it inside and kept it in the house for about 4 months, using an indoor grow light to help it get enough light during winter.

Sd zoo coconut was doing great before being landscaped. There’s younger coconut trees starting in Tijuana. Then there’s a 2 pretty large ones in Orange County.

2022年6月24日 · Coconut palms are salt tolerant meaning they can tolerate it but they don't necessarily like or need it. I'd go with a well balanced palm fertilizer with micronutrients for coconuts over any salt for them. As for your coconut palm I'd honestly repot it with fresh new soil and no salt or fertilizer for a while to allow recovery.
