In all the Battletech games I've been playing (MW2, MW4 and MWO for the most part) I've always been a bit of a light 'mech nut. Especially the super fast ones, like the Locust. Widely available or just flatout the best? Because the LCT-1E is a helluva lot easier to find than the LCT-1Vb, and a solid improvement over the other Succession Wars-era Locusts that I think holds its own in later eras, provided pulse lasers aren't being pointed at it.

The 1M is my least favorite variant. The locust is inherently unsuited to long-range combat. It does quite well if it closes to medium or small laser range and engages in swarming attacks with other light units. I would only favor locust 1-Ms if I was some kind of periphery state that could only afford to field locusts.

The Locust has had several sculpts over the years: The first sculpt was a Battledroids-era sculpt (20-844). That was replaced with the standard Unseen sculpt (also 20-844). FASA released a plastic sculpt in the third edition BattleTech boxed set, based on the metal sculpt. The PlasTech set contained another plastic sculpt.

2015年4月28日 · WRT the original topic: It's interesting, in the light of that connection, that the Japanese BattleTech's Locust looks basically like a slightly bulkier, more detailed Ostall/Unseen Locust - including the same archetypical pose seen in the TRO3025.
