2023年9月28日 · Dirce, daughter of Ismenus, was the wife of the Theban king Lycus. She is best remembered for her savage mistreatment of her husband’s niece Antiope. Dirce was ultimately killed by Antiope’s sons Amphion and Zethus, who threw her body into the Theban river to which Dirce gave her name.
