The Alexandria Safe Zone, or simply Alexandria, is a walled community in AMC 's The Walking Dead, located in Alexandria, Virginia. Established as a quarantine zone near Washington, D.C. by the U.S. Military for politicians during the Trials, Alexandria was later abandoned following Operation Cobalt.
