If the running load is 2.2 amperes, there is no way the load would ever be high enough to trip a properly functioning 60 ampere breaker. It sounds like the breaker is oversized and defective.

I have called a bunch of place around me to get one of them ordered and they are all telling me its 3-6 weeks before they can get them. There is a 70a breaker that feeds a motor. It goes from the breaker to a non-fusible, 60a disconnect, then to a variable frequency drive, and then to the motor.

2020年9月10日 · Using a 30 amp fused disconnect is ok in your situation as long as the 60 amp feed has 60 amp wire. Same as feeding a 200 amp panel from the secondary of a transformer that is rated for more than 200 amps. If the panel has a main breaker rated at 200 amps, it’s ok as that is the max load it will have.

The receptacle required is almost certain to be a 60 amp pin and sleeve connector body. the exact type should be confirmed with the manufacturer. Probably a Hubbell type, might even be IEC. The circuit will require 2 #6 THHN and a #10 THHN ground.
