I recall a Hot Rod Magazine story, probably from the late sixties, about some guy in California running a 7000 rpm 352 in a 54 coupe. 2018年12月28日 · This is my 11th '54 Ford Coupe. Some were real fast, others were 'tight' and ran well. I recommend the 292 Y block engine and if keeping a 3 speed, (for the smooth column shift) use a '68 heavy-duty all synchro 3 speed. If you MUST lower it, use the Ford Aerostar (?) coils up front, they're progressively wound, and drop you 1.5"-2"", I'm told.

2011年12月5日 · Okay, I am getting ready to prepare my 54 Ford frame for installation under my car, searched the forums about power steering. Not really a needed option, but will be nice to have. The car has a VERY sloppy original box that steers like a Mack truck. New frame has a Maverick manual box attached to it. I may use it if the 54 pitman arm fits.

My new one is another '54 coupe, this time one of my son's 406 monsters. Slowly coming together, parts for 406 aren't as easy to find as before. 6V system $2,000, so I'll use the 2X4 setup...

2016年2月22日 · The '54-'56 Ford front suspension is excellent. (just check/repair that front crossmember; they tend to rust) I had a 460 in my current '54 Ford coupe. Engine mounts must be raised, as the exhaust manifolds come in contact with upper control arms. Front sump of oil pan is a good fit, as was the stock one.
