US Canteen Guru mentioned in an earlier topic that the "1874" designation is a dealer invention but it's an id that is universally used among collectors. Very collectible hand forged and Brass inlayed dated 1854 and initialed M.S.H. 2 prong Meat Fork ! Never polished, orginal surface and no damage or repairs. It is 17" long, open Handle for hanging and typical Pennsylvania form and found in central Pa. Good Luck, no resevre !!
