Got a cheap TP-Link TD-VG5612 and thought I could just connect this via a LAN cable and use the phone ports through the D-Link. Rang Dodo to get the viop phone details and they weren't exactly helpful but I did get the username and password at least.

Also, the O.P. is talking about buying this TP-Link on eBay or MSY, so that doesn't sound like he's getting it directly from the RSP. Generally speaking, an RSP will support a modem/router that is sold directly by the RSP.

OPTUS REPLIES: Hey Dean, you can turn off WiFi on our modem and connect Ethernet cable from ours to WAN port on your own router. This will allow your router to run your internal network while our modem manages the VOIP connection. Not an elegant solution with 2 routers and the NBN box but in the circumstances, what the hell.

2024年9月30日 · It's a TP Link/ ARcher VX220-G2v /AX1500 and on the box it says "Wireless Gigabit NBN VDSL/ADSL Modem Router with VOIP" Note the VOIP. Installed it OK an all up and running and then I go to configure the VOIP. Guess what NO TELEPHONY TAB in advanced so I can't set it up. Why would they send me a VOIP modem that apparently can't configure VOIP !

I believe this model is NOT a VOIP handset/system but is an analogue system (ie, the base station plugs into a VOIP system ..same as plugging into the PSTN wall socket..(such as an ATA or a VOIP device such as the Telstra modem).
