on the first one you see two couples of vertical lines: the two internal ones can be visible only if you look at the transistor with the straight face facing you. If it was rotated by 180° along the vertical axis you would only see a rectangle with no internal vertical lines.

I know it's a silicon NPN TO-220 case used as a relay driver. I know the voltages, I can estimate the current, so I can search for all those parameters but get hundreds of candidates.

2015年2月13日 · You can use a multimeter to check the transistor junctions. Put it in diode testing mode and verify each of the transistors using the pinout on the datasheet as a guide. This way you will be able to determine the correct packaging.

The Philips datasheet shows the transistor from the bottom (the side where the pins come out of the package). It doesn't hurt to double check with a diode check. \$\endgroup\$ – jippie

2022年5月5日 · A transistor that have a max collector current of 30mA is definitely not the best candidate for switching power. If you really insist on this configuration you may want to consider changing the CS9011 for a VN2222 MOSFET. the ON resistance is 7 ohms, surely enough to bring that pin to GND adequately.

2020年4月17日 · A second idea was to find a transistor that has its emitter and collector flipped (where the emitter is on the top center and collector is on the bottom left). I thought of a PNP transistor but that wouldn't suit my circuit either. As for NPN I couldn't find a suitable replacement for the given transistor and it's form/package (SOT-23).
