We're talking the common models here, the everyday "X beaver" cattleman creases that pop up on eBay like blades of grass. I'm on the market for a new work hat and I'm trying to avoid the Stetsons.

2005年8月3日 · The round Resistol box is the older box. Is it a cowboy hat or a fedora? Resistol stopped making fedoras or what they call dress hats in 1968 so if you have a fedora it dates before 1968. What color is the sweatband? The brown sweatbands are usually the older models. The black sweatbands are from the 1960s and newer---usually.

2009年10月9日 · Stetson I understand from multiple hat forums and multiple cowboys I know and reviews online.. the Stetson is “the hat” from the days of the cowboy long ago, however even through the Stetson forum on another site the x distinction is lost. What’s a 100x Panama?

2020年3月13日 · If you watch for brands from custom Western hat makers you can often get a better bargain as they don’t often have the name recognition of Stetson, Resistol or American Hat Co. I’ve been able to find several hats from Rand, O’Farrell, Texas Hatters, D Bar J, Greeley, etc. (hats upwards of $1000 new) for well under $100 (and as low as $5).

I'll start with a Resistol bowler having a sword and crown liner logo.

2011年10月17日 · I have learned to love my 3 - 3 1/8th brim westerns (the hat in my current avatar is a 3 1/8th). Prior to the urban cowboy fad the 3 - 3 1/2 inch brims were more common than 4 inch brims, from what I observe in vintage westerns. I am most surprised at my own reaction to bound brims after getting acclimated to raw-edge westerns.

2006年9月13日 · 6. Slip the ribbon you are going to be using as a hatband through the "C" shape that is now forming the knot. Once you have the ribbon in place around the hat, use small stitches to tack everything down, bow, knot, and ribbon. It takes a little trial and effort, but it works.

2016年9月22日 · The Union label on your hat indicates it was made between 1983-1995. Not really vintage. Hope you didn't pay too much for it. Most people tend to think that any hat with the word "Stetson" in it has value. Of note, any Stetson hat made at the original Stetson factory in Philly would not have had any union label inside, pre-1985 or otherwise.

2009年1月23日 · I have a Resistol hat that I bought in 1975. I think it is a 3x, but not for sure. Wore it up through the end of the 80's. The sweatband started to come apart so I had a new band sewn in. I then had the had cleaned and blocked and put in back in the box is was purchased in. The hat looks almost brand new. It is a brown Cowboy hat.

Photos show the hat lining, NFR 40th Anniversary logo sealed in the top lining and the anniversary pin on the hat band. Please contact me with questions.
