Using the primary email address associated with the account (e.g. gmail address instead of icloud address) could also be a contributory factor.

2022年11月25日 · Recently I found that my new (<1 year old) computer was VERY slow to open OneDrive folders. Same experience opening iCloud Photos folder. In fact, sometimes when I attempt to open one of the folders (both OneDrive and Photos) nothing opens at all. I uninstalled iCloud for Windows and OneDrive behaved normally.
