2020年2月27日 · So I finally upgraded my GTX 1050 to a GTX 1660 but sadly it requires an 8pin power connector and my psu only has a 6pin. I heard some people were able to get this card running with a 6pin power connector considering it only uses 120 watts of power.

2023年2月2日 · Gigabyte 1660 super triple fan model. 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe power connections have the same number of 12v lines, but the 8-pin has extra ground pins. Because of that, most of the time you can get away with using one of these adapters. Knowing what model power supply you’re using will help know for sure if it’ll work.

2022年11月3日 · you can get a 6 pin to 8 pin adapter / extension cable. Yes, the extra 2 wires are just grounds, it "tells" the video card that the power supply is capable of supplying up to 150 watts through the same 3 pairs of wires in the 6 pin connector part.

The 1660 Super only draws 125W and I'm not gonna overclock, so my guess is it'd be fine... but I'm no pro at this, so I'd love any advice! Would it be ok if I plug that into the GPU?

2020年4月1日 · Your PSU was designed for an 8 pin (which is your 6+2 pin). Don't use adapters....like 6 pin to 8 pin.
