2020年4月26日 · Hydrogenated ethylhexyl olivate is very similar to ethylhexyl palmitate. The only difference comes from the unsaponifiables (mostly squalane with smaller amounts of glycolipids and yet smaller ones in phytosterols). All depends on amounts and proportions present: unless added extra, the unsaponifiables make up about 1 meagre %.

I have been making moisturisers simply using carbomer ultrez 10 and triethalonamine and stearic acid, which I don’t mind and gives a nice gel feel. But I have had a range of people asking for a more natural product (without trieth).

2020年1月21日 · You need oils/esters that spread well and apply quickly such as Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides. I use Hydrogenated EthylHexyl Olivate as my main Oil which applies very fast. I round it off with Jojoba oil and Mango butter.

2022年6月21日 · Ethylhexyl Isononanoate, Isostearyl Isostearate, and Isonoyl Isononanoate were all good…. But I ended up back with Isoamyl laurate. I discovered it is not the individual ingredient that matters most…but far more importantly is the group performance. I will write out my thoughts…and post shortly.

As Ethyl Macadamiate is rather expensive, we are looking more into other two ingredients.

2020年3月26日 · Good idea on the hydrogenated oils, thanks, I’ll have a look into them. I’ve had success with Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate and Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiables, but it gets a bit too siliconey and greasy at too high a percentage.

2021年8月9日 · Ok thanks so much! Updates based on your input below. I included siligel in place of the carbomer, upped the mango butter and cetearyl alcohol for viscosity and changed the emulsifier to 202, GSC and glyceryl stearate based on the rave reviews on this forum.
