2020年3月27日 · If her belly feels really squishy like a water balloon I think there is probably fluid buildup and maybe it's just getting thick, viscous and hard to draw out with the syringe. I wouldn't try to force it, particularly as draining is not a cure.

Ascites or water belly is a result of liver disease that may be caused by heart failure, and more commonly cancer, egg yolk peritonitis, or fatty liver disease. The fluid that comes out is yellow to amber colored. If you do a necropsy on a chicken that dies, and get yellow fluid, that is what it is.

When I cut through the abdominal wall, the sack rolled out like a water balloon, exposing the intestines and left oviduct, which were beneath. Smaller water sacks were beneath the main sack, but attached to the same structure.
