2012年5月6日 · About the banana plugs I tried a couple different types, and I liked these (Nakamichi) the best. I liked the security of the 2 screws. The other types seem to come loose after time. Some blue thread locker may have cured that, but I never got around to trying it. They also make these in the spade configuration.

2005年3月19日 · Most banana plugs I have seen are gold or at least gold plated which don't tarnish and should, theoretically, make a stronger connection. Is one brand of plug better than the other (i.e. Radio Shack versus Monster)? I am asking this after I just bought a 5 pack of monster banana plugs - I guess I am a sucker for those guys.

Best ways to avoid whiskers- don't remove more than 1/2" of insulation, twist the strands before inserting the ends and open the binding post fully, rather than "That's enough to get the end in"- it's not.

2019年6月7日 · I put a few banana plugs into the back of my Denon X2300 reciever and they can easily flex and touch each-other. Most banana plugs seem to have metal exterior jackets, which would lead me to believe they could cause a short if they touch. Are there any good insulated plugs? I talked to one manufacturer who said their metal jacks were "anodized".

2019年6月20日 · Or are there special binding posts required to use BFA banana plugs? I tried out a few regular and BFA plugs and the BFA ones seem to have a better fit in my receiver. The only downside of the BFA plugs is they are a little sharp on the plug end, but not too bad, and I can’t imagine it would hurt a metal binding post.

2006年7月30日 · LOCKING BANANA PLUGS!!!!! I wouldn't use anything else. Easy to connect, color coded and once locked almost impossible to pull out. Spades and pins require the 5-way binding post to be fully tightened. In some cases these are just plastic nuts (or outer covers) that can crack. Locking bananas expand inside the metal of the binding post.

2005年3月14日 · The 5-way posts BMXTRIX is talking about allow you to connect spades, pin connectors, bare wire, banana's, and dual-banana's. These same posts are also used on speakers, in-wall wire systems, etc. The picture shows a common type of banana plug that allows you to "stack" the connectors on top on one another to facilitate bi-wiring.

2018年4月7日 · Banana plugs are soooo convenient, I can move equipment and speakers in and out of my system more quickly and with much greater ease than if I used an alternative speaker wire attachment method. Only downside is if you are sometimes clumsy and trip over speaker wire you could of course pull the plug right out of its terminal.
