2009年9月17日 · I have the opportunity to purchase a Marantz DLB-1 Dolby decoder. Other than being collectable and possibly lighting the Dolby lamp on the tuner face, will this unit actually do anything? I don't want to harm a well working 35 year old receiver by plugging a component into it and not be sure of what it may do.

2019年9月28日 · When you are in this mode and you are playing a CD4 record, and you have a CD4 compatible cartridge, the decoder picks up the 30khz pilot tone and so then decodes the CD4 audio. If you are having channel dropouts its most likely to be a dirty/oxidised selector switch, this is very common on these models....

The reason is that SQ is an ancestor of Dolby Pro-Logic but rather different as the rear-channel algorithms involved are somewhat different. SQ sounded best played back on an SQ (or QS) full-logic decoder.

The data gets stored in a big buffer (Sony's name: HATS), and clocked out to the amp using PLM. The sound is incredible, and is WAY better than toslink.

Nothing to do with the stereo decoder - no type of switching for the chip. do you hear the stereo effect when listening to a strong FM stereo station by switching in and out of MONO? especially vividly using headphones.
