On the upper staff, press F2 (or Staff, Staff Properties), Visual tab, then change Style to Upper Grand Staff.

I've done essentially what Rob suggests for many years and have found it effective, but Rick's idea intrigues me - it has the advantage of allowing you to see the labels on the editing screen - and I think I'll be switching.

2004年1月9日 · Yes there is a simple way. Go to File, then Page Setup, then click on the Options tab. Next, go to the box that says staff labels, and set it to show labels on the first system only (to the left of the staff on the first page only), the top systems, or on all systems (on each page). 2021年12月20日 · c) "Staff Labels" does not work. Even when I manually tweak a .nwctxt file, this options is not correctly written into the PgSetup. I suspect this has to do with the blank in "First System", "All Systems" etc., therefore only "None" works. Is this true? and if so, how can I set the StaffLabels slot correctly with a user tool?? 2013年9月11日 · Suggestions: Staff labels on ALL systems, with SHORT abbreviations (say 4 char max.) Collapse what you can - this can save many pages in the score. Layer what you can, eg. Clar.1 & Clar.2, with stems up and stems Down, reduce lengths of stems . Print Multi-staff system separators. (Ideally: LARGE page numbers, as well as LARGE Measure numbers )
