Detachable gondola lifts are monocable systems in which the vehicles are detached from the hauling and carring cable in the stations. The entry and exit areas of the gondola platform are traversed at lower speeds, enabling passengers to easily enter and leave the cabins.

The cabin ventilation can be designed in a variety of ways to meet different requirements depending on the intended use — from urban cable cars in tropical countries to transport for athletes up the mountain in winter.
