AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The National Weather Service recently released a snow squall warning to residents on Monday. Officials said the area is under a snow squall warning until 3:45 p.m. on Jan. 20, drivers could encounter whiteout conditions.
Update: The snow squall warning is expected to expire at 9:30 a.m.
"The snow squall that prompted the warning continues to gradually weaken. Therefore, the snow squall warning will be allowed to expire. Some roads will remain slippery along with some reduced visibility as snow showers continue in portions of the warned area," states the National Weather Service.
