A Shelby County man has been sentenced to over 20 years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

A Shelby County man was sentenced last week to 270 months in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Part of Harlan, Iowa, had a mandatory evacuation due to a "significant" gas leak. Shelby County Emergency Management said the leak is in the area of Fourth Street and Market and Hill streets.

Two Iowa counties appealed a federal judge's decision ... the well-being and the property of our residents," Steve Kenkel the Shelby County Supervisor said. "That's what zoning ordinances do.
