Next Sunday, January 26th, 2025, will be a date of historic significance for one of Ireland’s oldest – and for hundreds of years most influential – religious orders, the Cistercians.

The hospital was demolished in 1966 leaving just the chapel remaining, but a Cistercian monk called Blind Peter who guards the abbey’s hidden treasure can sometimes be seen on Halloween night.
