I can't remember how long we were out there but there were sections that were covered in ice that slowed us down a lot. Under normal conditions at a leisurely pace and stopping regularly to take in the endless sites/beauty I would say a minimum of 3 hours.
What time does the parking lot open ? Their website says 8AM. But I read in couple of reviews saying it opens at 7. I am planning to be there my 6:30. In case the lot is not open is there any parking available near by ? Thanks

The Trail is out and back making it a total of 7 miles. You can make shorter if you like by just turning around. It's a very easy hike with very little vertical gain. There are numerous water crossings so be sure to have on shoes that can get wet. Trecking poles are very helpful with water crossing.
